My Dog,Joy, has lost a lot of weight in the last month. Her teeth have become very sensitive so eating her meal everyday is getting very hard. Her meal consists of a cup of dry dog food and a half a can of Alpo Wet food twice a day. We have tried senior dog food but she does’nt like it and refuses to eat it! We have her teeth cleaned every year. I have grown up with Joy…and love her to death…She is twelve years old.

Okay so i have two dogs that are on Blue Buffalo and Alpo canned food. they are having digestive issues like diarrhea. and i know its the alpo cuz my chihuahua was fine before. so i want to know what kind of canned dog food from blue buffalo would be good to mix with his food. He is on the Small breed Chicken and Rice formula.
I was only feeding the alpo because the previous owner of my new dog gave it to us. And no my chihuahua WON’T eat without it. I’ve tried not giving him treats all day and his food being the only thing he gets and he still wont eat. I only mix a little wet food with the dry food so he’ll eat so its not a whole can and no dry dog food at all. ive tried soaking his food in water to soften it and still he’ll only eat a little them walk away from it. if you guys have any other ideas please give them because i dont know what else to do. its not an underlying health problem i know that.

Over the past few years, store bought pet foods have had their quality questioned, and for good reason. After the discovery of melamime, aminopterin and cyanuric acid in commercial dog foods, an enormous recall of the foods ensued, just a few years ago. During that recall, many pet owners discovered that their beloved pet had become very sick while others suffered with the death of their furry best friend.

During the latter part of 2011 and early 2012, more dog foods including so-called premium brands like Iams have had recalls after discovering excessive amounts of aflatoxin in the commercial food. Aflatoxin is a fungi often found in corn products that can cause liver cancer in dogs.

The situation has caused many pet owners to question the quality and control of commercial pet food makers. Could a raw meat diet for dogs be the answer, many pet owners are wondering.

It is no surprise that the commercial pet food industry does not want pet owners to consider abandoning their products. It’s a billion dollar plus industry and they certainly don’t want to have their profits cut into. Some of the large pet food manufacturers are actually warning pet owners to not try a raw diet, suggesting there are many risks involved.

Dog owners who have switched to a raw meat and bones diet are reporting many benefits for their dogs after switching. These benefits for their pets include:

Cleaner and pearly white teeth

Improved coat and skin, sometimes with skin issues completely disappearing

Increased energy and stamina

These are but a few of the benefits. Of course, the pet food industry want to point out that this is simply anecdotal evidence, and is not proof that feeding your dog a raw meat diet is healthy in the long run. One of the risks, according to them is of bacterial infection and contamination of raw meat.

While it is true that the evidence is mostly anectodatal, those of us who are nervous about what is going into commercial pet foods have nothing else to go by. It is doubtful that the animal feed producers will be funding studies that put their product up against what canines have been eating forever.

Feeding your dog a raw meat diet is not that difficult. And when you think about it, the risks of contamination in raw are probably much lower than the risk of contamination in commercial pet food.

As well, commercial pet food labels are created in such a way to trick us into believing that the main ingredient is meat. This is not true – it may be the first ingredient listed, but most of the time, the weight of total grains is far higher than the weight of the meat in kibble.

Meayt bones that are raw are an important part of a raw diet for dogs. In the wild, relatives of domesticated dogs obtain vitamins and minerals from chewing and consuming raw bone material. When bones are cooked, they become hazardous, but it is a myth that we need to be careful when the bones are raw. Bones become more prone to splintering after they go through a cooking process. Raw bones on the other hand are more easily
digested. Dogs that chew on and eat raw bones generally have little to no tartar buildup and their teeth are pearly white.

Although some veterinarians will also give warnings about feeding raw (remember though, they are sponsored by the big pet food companies), it’s been admitted that they really don’t have that much nutritional training and those who feed raw seem to have less vet visits needed!

Owning a pet, whether it is a bird, a kitty, a dog or even a gold fish could be a rewarding and exciting experience. Pets can bring you much love and joy and they can be great company for you, and also a great learning process for children learning how to look after their own pet. But it’s critical that you understand how to look after your pet, which is where pet care tips can come in very helpful.

It does not matter what type of animal that you own, all of them need care and love to some level, however some animals can be a little easier to look after than others. If you own a goldfish, then these are some important pet care tips for taking care of your fish so that it has a happy and healthy life :

Always make sure that you have got a tank or a bowl that is sufficiently big for your fish. If you have more than one fish, then you’ll need a larger bowl. And don’t forget, fish grow just like any other animal so when they become too large you need to get them a bigger living environment.

A very important pet care tip when it comes to fish and goldfish is that you should never over feed them. Fish are not like us, they do not know when they are hungry and will continue to eat even if you give them too much. Attempt to feed your fish around 2 times per day and only splatter a finger full of food on the top of the water this is lots for a goldfish.

Another significant pet care tip for goldfish is to always keep the tank or bowl clean. Scum can build up on the glass and the water can get truly dirty, so it is very important that you clean your goldfish bowl at least one time a week.

Remember fish are not the same as dogs and cats and other pets, they shouldn’t be handled as they are cold blooded animals and the heat from your hands can finish up murdering them. Here are some important pet care tips that you need to remember when it comes to caring for a new cat or kitten :

Cats and kittens need a lot of attention and taking care of, that stated that a pussy can be pretty self sufficient and will spend plenty of time going out on his very own. It is critical that you make sure your pussy-cat is well looked after, ensure that he has a collar with and ID tag on it in case he gets lost.

An important pet care tip to remember is that cats need check ups just like you and me, so you must make sure you take your moggy to see a vet constantly for injections to protect against illness when they are out and about. Click here : natural pet care and http://naturalpetcareshop.com/natural-pet-care for more data.

Some nutritionists advise to limit the proportion of red meat in the diet of dogs. These people give their dogs made with lean meat such as chicken.
more important to feed your dog in the proper proportions is absolutely necessary because when you are over feeding your dog it will lead to obesity and certain other health problems.
